Millerton Family Album Project

As Millerton celebrates its 175th Anniversary, you are invited to celebrate the town and the ways in which your family and friends have contributed to its development by helping to create a permanent record which will be curated by the NorthEast-Millerton Library.

We truly believe that “everyone has a story,” and we would love to hear yours! Each person who has lived or worked in the town has been part of its development. Each story – happy, sad, big or small – whether it has been passed on down through the generations or happened just last week has therefore become an important part of its history.

You may submit a written piece, or if you’d prefer, a volunteer or a member of the library staff can take your story over the phone, write it up, and then check with you to be sure it is accurate.  Pictures are also encouraged. Everyone always likes to have a face to the name.

There is no size limit on your contribution or the number of stories which you may share. As many as possible will be displayed around the library throughout the anniversary. All will be included in an electronic collection, although some may be edited for length purposes.

Photos will be scanned and returned.

We hope this project will encourage some entertaining family conversations and add to your enjoyment of the celebration.
