Dragons and Other Beasts: An exhibit of work by Barbara Graham

Dragons and Other Beasts.
An exhibit of work by Barbara Graham

Statement from the artist:

Dragons in Western culture are often seen as malevolent monsters, greedy and evil. But they can be trained to be a protector as Daenerys did in “Game of Thrones.”  In contrast Eastern dragons are regarded as benevolent beasts, symbols of good luck and prosperity.  They bring strength and power to those who are willing to conquer their fear and prejudice.

The series “Dragons in Armor” depicts 5 sets of dragons representing  the Chinese elements of  fire, earth, metal, water and wood. They have protected themselves from those who think conquering fear means killing the dragon. Others have less to worry about. They show themselves, ready to be your guide and teacher.

On display for the month of March.
