Music in the Annex with Donald Sosin and Joanna Seaton

We will be screening the silent film Laurel and Hardy’s Battle of the Century (with the biggest pie fight ever filmed) and Beyond the Rocks, with Rudolph Valentino and Gloria Swanson a romantic drama. Music accompanying the film will be performed live by Donald Sosin and Joanna Seaton. Donald Sosin and Joanna Seaton, Lakeville residents, are well known to local audiences for their unique blend of keyboard, vocals and percussion accompaniment to silent films. They've performed at Music Mountain and at major film festivals and museums around the US and Europe. They are frequent guest artists at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, MoMA, the National Gallery, the Telluride and San Francisco Silent Film Festivals and at Italy's annual film retrospectives in Bologna and Pordenone. They have created scores for over three dozen silent film DVDs, and received commissions from the Chicago Symphony Chorus, the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestra of St. Luke's. Joanna teaches vocal music at Indian Mountain School, and as a team they teach songwriting and film music workshops at schools and colleges all over the US.
